Division II No. 4 Canyon del Oro beat No. 55 Flowing Wells 9-0 on Tuesday to improve to 7-0 on the year and 2-0 in section play and the Caballeros fell to 1-7-1 on the year. The Dorados were the D-II state runner-up team last year, falling to Salpointe 5-2 in the final. Salpointe (5-0) in ranked No. 3 in D-II currently and the teams will meet on April 14.

The Dorado doubles team of Avery Eliscu and Camryn Hansen ended a remarkable run last year with a state runner-up finish but Hansen graduated and Eliscu is paired with both sophomore Sophia Geerligs and senior Emma Bartruff this spring. Eliscu (14-0) beat Paloma Anguiano (6-0, 6-0) to set the tone against Caballeros.

The Dorados have only given up three points this year and that was part of a 6-3 victory over D-I No. 13 Rincon/UHS (5-2). Canyon del Oro will host D-II No. 15 Catalina Foothills (4-1) on Thursday and Flowing Wells will travel to No. 37 Amphitheater (4-4) on the same day.
