DEVELOPMENTS
Two shoulder injuries, including one that sidelined him most of last year, and then a hamstring pull earlier this spring has detoured Nogales grad Demetrio Crisantes from continuing his climb in the Arizona Diamondbacks’ farm system. Crisantes, who was assigned to Double-A Amarillo (Texas) coming out of spring training, has experienced most of his time with Arizona’s Rookie League team in Phoenix rehabbing his hamstring injury. The Diamondbacks sent him to Single-A+ Hillsboro (Ore.) on Tuesday to continue playing while returning from the injury. He hit two home runs in his first game with Hillsboro. Expect Crisantes — who signed with the Arizona Wildcats during his senior season with Nogales — to finally play at the Double-A level for the first time soon.
