Nogales High School Class of 2022 graduate Demetrio Crisantes is now only one level away from achieving his major-league dreams.

The Arizona Diamondbacks, who signed the infielder in 2022 after drafting him in the seventh round, elevated Crisantes to Triple-A Reno (Nev.) on Tuesday.

Crisantes, the No. 3-rated Diamondbacks prospect (according to MLB Pipeline), made his debut with Reno on Tuesday and he was 1 for 5 with a run.

Injuries have affected Crisantes’ rise in the Diamondbacks’ farm system, but the prospect is thriving in his fifth year with the franchise. He owns a career .320 average and .412 on-base percentage in nearly 900 pro plate appearances.

Crisantes had a productive run at Double-A Amarillo (Texas) after not playing there until May 26 because of a hamstring injury. In 35 Texas League games, he batted .319 batting average/.548 slugging percentage/.961 OPS with 19 extra-base hits (including five home runs) to go with 19 walks.

Crisantes is in his 40-man roster evaluation season. Now at Triple-A, he has a chance for a big-league call up this summer.
