Post 132 Crush (Sunnyside) beat Post 109 Cactus Cats (Desert View) 11-1 Sunday morning at Kino Stadium to capture the American Legion State Championship Series 2-0. Sunnyside (12-1) advances to the Western Regional starting August 5 in Fairfield, California.
Pedro Lopez went 2-4, Sabino Gonzales went 2-4, Miguel Celaya went 2-3, Cristian Lizarraga went 2-2 wit a double and two RBI and Joseph Leyva went 1-2 with an RBI and Andres Valenzuela had a triple and two RBI to lead Sunnyside.
Mark Hollonbeck went 2-4 with two doubles and Yadier Acuña had a double for Desert View.
