No. 5 Pima men bounce back strong after first loss

Report from Pima Community College media relations:

The Pima Community College men’s soccer team (3-1, 2-1 in ACCAC) bounced back in dominating fashion on Saturday against Chandler-Gilbert Community College (1-2, 1-2).

·         The No. 5 ranked Aztecs scored three goals in the first half en route to a 5-0 victory over the Coyotes at the West Campus Aztec Field.

·         Sophomore Sean Ribadeneira (Pinnacle HS) scored the first goal of the game in the 15^th minute. He also had a hand in both goals in the second half. He provided the assist for fellow sophomore Alek Peral’s (Nogales HS) goal in the 56^th minute to make it 4-0. He scored the final insurance goal in the 66^th minute with an assist from sophomore Wei Wei Mannos (Pinnacle HS).

·         Freshman Noah Marshman (Pinnacle HS) made it 2-0 with his penalty kick goal in the 24^thminute.

·         Freshman Dante Di Leva scored the final goal of the first half in the 35^th minute as the Aztecs took a 3-0 lead at the break.

·         The Aztecs finished with seven shots on goal. Sophomore Tommaso Leonardi finished with one save in 56 minutes of play. Freshman Tijn Dik played the final 34 minutes with no saves.

The Aztecs will be back at the West Campus Aztec Field for the third straight game on Tuesday when they host GateWay Community College.
