RETURNING FIRST-TEAM SELECTIONS

Kayla Tacker — Casa Grande — WR/DB/LB, Sr.

Tacker enters her senior season as one of the most accomplished two-way players in Arizona girls flag football. She was named to the USA Today Sports inaugural All-America Flag Football Team and was an NFL FLAG Player of the Year finalist.

2025 highlights

  • 90 receptions
  • 1,505 receiving yards
  • 26 receiving TDs
  • 16 interceptions
  • 58 solo/total flag pulls
  • Averaged 115.8 receiving yards per game in 2025.

Valeria Balderrama — Nogales — RB/R, Soph.

Balderrama was already a first-team 5A selection as a freshman in 2025, according to AllSportsTucson’s 5A All-Star selections.


Sarah Mountz — Casa Grande — QB, Sr.

Mountz is coming off a huge 2025 season, named the 5A Southern Offensive Player of the Year after throwing for 2,867 yards and 46 touchdowns.

Her individual game performances illustrate that production.

  • Against Sunrise Mountain in the playoffs: 24-of-30, 357 yards, 5 TDs

R Storm Ryan — Buena — Sr.

Ryan is one of the premier pass rushers among the returning 5A players:

Her 2025 statistics show:

  • 23 sacks
  • 32 tackles/flag pulls for loss
  • 37 QB hurries
  • 41 solo flag pulls
  • 45 total flag pulls
  • 3.5 flag pulls per game

Ryan produced 23 sacks in both 2024 and 2025, making her one of the state’s most consistent pass rushers.


Jennymar Stevens — Mountain View — DB/LB, Jr.

Stevens is a versatile Mountain View athlete who has competed in flag football, basketball and track & field.

Her 2025 flag-football stats:

  • 22 total flag pulls
  • Ranked among the top 22 players in the 5A Southern in total flag pulls.

Rylan Bonar — Buena — DB/LB, Jr.

Bonar’s biggest statistical contribution in 2025 was creating turnovers:

  • 8 interceptions, which led Buena
  • Ranked ahead of Deztany Toyota-Villalobos (6) and Zion McLin (5) on Buena’s team interception leaderboard.

She also had two interceptions in Buena’s 21-14 playoff victory over Casa Grande.


Adelina Ortega — Buena — P, Jr.

Also a quality QB, Ortega’s numbers last year were substantial:
