Jeremiah Anderson’s Senior Night on Friday at Mica Mountain was a memorable one with him rushing for a career-high 195 yards on 15 carries with a touchdown in the Thunderbolts’ 30-0 win over Sahuaro.
The victory enabled Mica Mountain to close the regular season 9-1 and brought Anderson closer to eclipsing 1,000 yards rushing in a season for the first time in his career.
He is at 929 yards on 124 carries with 14 touchdowns ahead of two-time defending 4A state champion Mica Mountain’s first playoff game Nov. 6 against an opponent to be determined.
He is coming on strong at the right time with Mica Mountain going for a third straight title. In the last two games against Catalina Foothills and Sahuaro, he rushed for 356 yards on 29 rushes with three touchdowns.
For his dominant rushing performance against Sahuaro, Anderson is the APS Digital Print/Frog & Firkin Week 10 Player of the Week.
Banners from APS Digital Print will be presented to the player and coach at an end-of-season awards gathering at Frog & Firkin.
