Bisbee Freshman Adacelli Noriega Wins State Wrestling Championship

Bisbee freshman Adacelli Noriega went 21-0 this year in the 118-pound division including an incredible run through the state championships held in Prescott Valley Friday and Saturday to win the first state championship in Southern Arizona history.

Noriega beat Casteel freshman Isabelle Munoz (31-3) by a 14-11 decision.

Canyon del Oro sophomore Mylei Seigla (33-1) became the first “big school athlete from Southern Arizona to finish runner-up at state with her second place finish in the 130 division.

Tombstone senior Jasmine Jacquay (15-2) took second in the 185 division.
Rincon/UHS junior Paulina Hurtado (5-1) took third (225).
Mountain View sophomore Ysela Gradillas-Flores (22-5) took sixth (145).
Catalina junior Camron Tutas (14-4) took fourth (130).
Pueblo sophomore Destiny Pogue (16-6) took sixth (110).

There is no team competition.
