The bonus of having offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone continues to pay off for Arizona coach Kevin Sumlin.
Mazzone, in his third year at Arizona along with Sumlin, was instrumental in landing prolific passer Grant Gunnel from the Houston area two years ago. The longtime offensive coordinator who also served at Auburn, ASU, UCLA and Texas A&M, among other places, has also lured backups Kevin Doyle, a redshirt sophomore, and incoming freshman Will Plummer to the program.
The latest achievement of luring a promising passer occurred today with Class of 2021 prospect Clay Millen of Snoqualmie (Wash.) Mount Si High School committing to the Wildcats.
Millen, rated a 3-star prospect by Rivals.com, is the son of former Washington and NFL quarterback Hugh Millen. He played for the Huskies 1984-85 and four NFL teams from 1987-95. Clay’s older brother Cale is a redshirt freshman at Oregon.

In 13 games as a junior last season at Mount Si, Clay completed 256 of 360 pass attempts for 3,145 yards with 34 touchdowns and only one interception.
He stands at 6-foot-3 and 188 pounds with running ability. He gained 273 yards on 132 carries last season and scored five times.
Clay is the eighth player to commit to Arizona in the Class of 2021. He chose the Wildcats over Colorado, Oregon State, Oregon, Indiana and Florida Atlantic.
Verbal commitments are non-binding. The early national signing period for football is Dec. 16.
