When we last caught up with former Tucson High standout Maximiliano Hernandez, the volleyball standout had his sights set on attending the University of Arizona as a biochemistry major but an offer to play at the next level, while still studying biochemistry, came through when Cornerstone University came calling.

Cornerstone is an NAIA program located in Grand Rapids, Michigan and Hernandez is part of the first recruiting class for the Golden Eagles.
“I chose Cornerstone because I wanted to be a part of a great volleyball and medical program,” Hernandez told the program.
The program is so new, Hernandez is actually the third recruit in program history.
So excited to bring you in Max! Let’s go! #TogetherweSOAR https://t.co/qFWjDeGKDM
