Brayden Zermeno, a 3-star quarterback as rated by 247Sports, announced today that he is committed to attend Arizona after being recruited by new passing game coordinator and quarterbacks coach Jimmie Dougherty.
Zermeno, of Los Angeles Loyola High School, became the second quarterback on Saturday to announce his intention to join the Wildcats’ program for the 2021 season.
South Florida quarterback Jordan McCloud, who accounted for 1,712 passing yards, 16 touchdowns, and eight interceptions during his three seasons with the Bulls, posted on Twitter earlier Saturday that he is transferring to Arizona.

Zermeno, 6-foot-3 and 205 pounds, is ranked by 247Sports as the 48th-best pro-style passer in the Class of 2021. Formerly committed to Princeton, he had offers from Maryland and San Diego State along with several other Ivy League schools.
He passed for 1,633 yards and eight touchdowns while rushing for two touchdowns as a junior at Loyola. California high schools were scheduled to play their season this spring but COVID-19 has delayed that plan.
Loyola is one of the best programs in Southern California with six CIF-SS Division I championships.
In addition to Zermeno and McCloud, Jedd Fisch and Dougherty have added Washington State transfer Gunner Cruz to their quarterback competition for 2021.
The Wildcats will also have fourth-year junior Kevin Doyle and sophomore Will Plummer among their quarterbacks.
