Arizona scored its first three runs in the first inning and rolled from there to its seventh straight win, a 12-1 dominating victory over Oklahoma on Friday at the Frisco (Texas) College Baseball Classic.
Arizona (8-2) tallied 11 hits and seven walks, its defense played error-free baseball, and the pitching staff allowing just one run while striking out 11.
Starting right-hander Chandler Murphy (2-0) worked five innings and allowed just one run on eight hits.
Murphy exited the game in the top of the sixth inning with the bases loaded and no outs with a 6-1 lead. Right-handed reliever Preston Price proceeded to strike out three straight batters to end the threat. Price had five strikeouts in his two innings.
Arizona added five runs in the bottom of the sixth. The bullpen slammed the door shut to polish off the win.
