The start of the Jedd Fisch era includes only one win to this point, but that bit of info is minimized knowing rival Arizona State is next on the schedule to end the season.
The Wildcats (1-10 overall, 1-7 Pac-12) will look to end a four-game losing streak to the Sun Devils when the teams meet next Saturday at Tempe. The Wildcats have lost seven of their last nine meetings with their rivals.
“That’s where our focus will be starting now.”

No loss for Arizona was as bitter as Arizona State’s 70-7 win at Tucson last December, punctuating the three-year stint of Kevin Sumlin as the Wildcats’ head coach.
Some notes from Arizona’s 44-18 loss Friday night at Washington State:
— The Cougars rushed for 233 yards and Arizona was beset by 10 penalties.
— RB Drake Anderson’s 71-yard run in the second quarter that set up the Wildcats’ first touchdown. It was the longest rush recorded by an Arizona player since Gary Brightwell’s 94-yard scoring run against Northern Arizona in 2019. Anderson finished with a career-high 87 rushing yards on just eight attempts, an average of 10.9 yards per carry.
