Post 7 Firebirds of Tucson High went 11-1 in American Legion action this summer to earn the top seed in the American Legion state playoffs slated to start Tuesday night at Vista Grande High School. Post 7 will take on Post 73 Crush of Sunnyside (8-4) in a best-of-three series in one state semifinal.
Lofton Panthers of Surprise (11-1) will take on Cactus Cats of Desert View (10-1-1) in a best-of three series in the other semifinal. The two winners will meet up in the state finals starting on July 19 in another best-of-three playoff to determine the Arizona State Champion.
The American Legion West Regional will be held in Fairfield, California from August 3-7 and the American Legion World Series is scheduled for Shelby, North Carolina from August 11-16.
