University of Arizona Adaptive Athlete Amanda Cunha won her second straight national title at the 77th National Blind Golf Championship held in Saint Augustine, Florida this past week.
Salpointe senior forward Bella Malovich announced her commitment to play soccer for the Virginia Military Institute.
“I am so beyond excited and proud to announce my commitment to play DI soccer at Virginia Military Institute,” Malovich announced. “Thank you to all of my coaches and teammates that have shown their constant support throughout my soccer career. I would especially like to thank my family and my closest friends for always being there for me and pushing me to work hard every day. I could not have done this without you. I’m thrilled to continue my passion of playing soccer while perusing my dream of serving in the United States Navy.”
Cienega standout Taylor Hitchcock announced her commitment to play basketball for University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis (UHSP).
“So excited to announce my commitment to UHSP,” Hitchcock announced. “Thank you Coach Reis and Coach Jill for this opportunity! And a huge thank you to everyone who has helped me get to where I am now!”
Former Salpointe and current FC Tucson Women standout Sydney Lenhart scored three consecutive goals for Brandeis University in a victory over Lesley University on Tuesday. This was her first collegiate hat trick.
University of Arizona Wheelchair Basketball Team members Hayle Nilsen, Emilee Gustafson and Abigayle Dunn are in Thailand for the U25 International Wheelchair Basketball Federation (IWBF) World Championships as members of Team USA. Team USA plays Spain and Great Britain on Wednesday.
Gustafson was named a NWBA Intercollegiate Division Second Team All-American this past season and Nilson was named to the NWBA Intercollegiate Division All-Rookie Team.
