Sunnyside wrestler Audrey Jimenez first girl to win sectional title involving boys in Arizona

Sunnyside senior Audrey Jimenez continued her pioneer ways Saturday when it comes to female wrestling in Tucson and Arizona.

Jimenez, the first individual state champion from the Tucson-area as a freshman in 2021 before repeating in 2022 ane 2023, became the state’s first girl to win a sectional title involving competition with boys.

The 106-pound champion, Jimenez was part of Sunnyside’s AIA Division I, Section I championship team that competed at Chandler High School.
