Marana junior quarterback Colten Meyer continued his prolific-passing season amassing 470 yards while completing 30 of 34 passes with three touchdowns in the unbeaten Tigers’ 48-0 win at Canyon del Oro on Friday.
Meyer’s completion percentage was 88.2 and his yards per completion was 15.7 yards.
For his performance, which helped Marana improve to 5-0 overall, Meyer is the Week 6 APS Digital Print/Frog & Firkin Player of the Week. Meyer and Marana coach Phillip Steward will each receive a banner honoring his player of the week selection.
Meyer is a cousin of the famed Bourguet family that includes ASU quarterback Trenton and receiver Coben, BYU quarterback Treyson and Olympic flag-football hopeful Rylen.
Meyer has completed 137 of 186 pass attempts for 1,767 yards with 15 touchdowns and four interceptions at the midway point of the regular season.
The Tigers begin 5A Southern play at Sunnyside (2-3) on Friday night at 7.
APS Digital Print is owned by relatives and close family friends of former Salpointe standout Bijan Robinson, now with the Atlanta Falcons.
