Former Mica Mountain runner Noah Macias took first place in the 800-meter race at the GCC Indoor Invitational with a time of 1 minute, 52.51 seconds breaking the Pima school record. The previous record was held by Dustin Zimmerman at 1:53.76 set in 2004. He was named ACCAC Track Athlete of the Week.

Former Canyon del Oro pitcher Julia Holt was named MEAC Pitcher of the Week for Howard after she threw 12.2 innings, posting a 2.76 ERA, while striking out 11 hitters and walking only four. She collected two wins and one save.

Clarissa Figueroa (Mountain View) paced Pima by hitting .538 (7-for-13) with six RBI and eight runs scored to help the Aztecs pick up four conference wins. The sophomore infielder recorded multiple hits in three games and reached base 10 times, helping power Pima to wins over Mesa and Glendale. She was named D-II Player of the Week

This list will be updated all year in an effort to recognize all former local prep stars who have gone on to win either academic and/or athletic awards at the next level. These are not high school awards but collegiate and professional recognition. NOT CHAMPIONSHIPS.
