According to the Big West, GCU swimmer Carter Dooling (Ironwood Ridge) turned in a dominant four-win meet, setting a pool record in the 100 breaststroke with a winning time of 53.78 at CBU. Dooling added individual victories in the 200 breaststroke (1:58.65) and 200 butterfly (1:52.55), showcasing range across multiple events. From there, Dooling also swam on the winning 200 medley relay (1:28.21) and currently ranks No. 1 in the Big West in both the 100 and 200 breaststroke. He was named Big West Swimmer of the Week for his efforts.
In addition, Dooling swam 1:54.56 in the men’s 200 breaststroke at the Conference Meet to take more than a second off his pre-meet best of 1:55.92 and his swim came in four tenths under the NCAA AQ standard of 1:54.95 as reported by swimswam.com.

This list will be updated all year in an effort to recognize all former local prep stars who have gone on to win either academic and/or athletic awards at the next level. These are not high school awards but collegiate and professional recognition. NOT CHAMPIONSHIPS.
