FC Tucson Women hosted a friendly with the Kelly Pierce All-Stars on Saturday. The All-Stars were coached by former FC Tucson coaches Charlie MacCabe and Amy Speder. The All-Stars ranged in ages 18-42, which spans only part of Pierce’s influence on the sport. Included in the list is former Salpointe standout Mallory Miller, who is considered to be the best field soccer player to compete for the University of Arizona. Miller played with Pierce at Salpointe in the late 1990’s.

Pierce’s number 14 jersey was retired by FC Tucson Women and her jersey was retired at Salpointe in January.

Pierce is generally considered to be the top female soccer figure in Southern Arizona history.
