Thornydale beat Washington (Magnolia) 14-5 Monday night at Arthur Pack to advance to the championship series scheduled for Tuesday where the host team will have to beat Northern California twice under the double-elimination format to win the Junior Softball Western Region championship.
Foothill Area (3-0) beat Thornydale 15-4 on Saturday to send the host team to the Elimination Bracket where Thornydale (5-1) battled back for the rematch. Thornydale is 7-1 overall including the District 5 tournament.
