Pusch Ridge Class of 2023 graduate Will Way has only been at Wake Forest since early January, when he transferred from Weber State.

In the seven months he has been at Winston-Salem, N.C., he already has gained an ultimate level of respect and trust from his Demon Deacon teammates.

Way, a redshirt junior center at 6-foot-2 and 315 pounds, was chosen Sunday by his teammates to be captain for the 2026 season.

Wake Forest coach Jake Dickert and offensive line coach Jared Kaster have a history with Way, having previously recruited him out of Pusch Ridge when they were coaching at Washington State.

“I have an incredible opportunity in front of me at the highest level of college football,” Will Way mentioned in a text message to AllSportsTucson.com.

Kaster has spoken positively about Way’s leadership capabilities in a feature on the offensive line at Wake Forest’s website.

Way is a communications major with an emphasis on interpersonal, strategic communications. He plans to attend law school. His mother is an attorney. He wants to be a sports agent.
