The Arizona Wildcats are off this weekend after beating ASU on Thursday, so they are taking advantage of the free time to take care of some recruiting.
Assistant coach Book Richardson is attending the Hoophall Classic in Springfield, Mass., that runs through Martin Luther King Day on Monday.
This morning, Richardson took in 6’1″ point guard Jahvon Quinerly, a Class of 2018 prospect, leading Hudson Catholic (N.J.) over St. Anthony (Texas) 62-53. Quinerly had 25 points, five rebounds and four assist to earn game MVP honors.

Quinerly told Zagsblog.com that he lists Richardson and Arizona among his most persistent suitors.
“I got to speak to him the other night, we chopped it up a little bit,” Quinerly said of Richardson, who will also watch 2017 Arizona signees Brandon Randolph of Westtown School (Pa.) and DeAndre Ayton of Hillcrest Academy in Phoenix. They play at 5 p.m. (Tucson time) on ESPN.
Quinerly also lists Syracuse, Kansas, Stanford, Villanova, Virginia and Seton Hall those recruiting him the most.
Richardson reportedly also watched 7’1″ Class of 2018 center Moses Brown of Archibishop Molloy in New York play against Notre Dame of Connecticut. Brown is the No. 1-rated post player of his class. All top-flight programs nationally are recruiting Brown heavily.
