Salpointe middle infielder Anjolee Aguilar-Beaucage committed to play for Grand Canyon on Tuesday. The freshman had an excellent contact with the school via her sister, Brianna Aguilar-Beaucage, who is currently a standout freshman pitcher for Lopes.
“They watched me play and my coach Shannah Biggan (Arizona Impact Gold) also had great connections to give me a chance,” Aguilar-Beaucage said.
“They actually offered me in December and I feel it’s an excellent chance to play softball and get some great schooling. Not many schools will let you do that.”
Anjolee’s mother, Bettina, is a member of the All-Time Academic All-Big Ten Softball Team (Ohio State) and her aunt, Marcie Aguilar, played for the University of Arizona and is proudly listed in the Encyclopedia of Women and Baseball from her days with the Colorado Silver Bullets.
