The following are Tweets (and YouTube video) that mention the Heisman Trophy with Arizona sophomore quarterback Khalil Tate as a contender.
Tate has put himself in this position because he has quarterbacked Arizona to a 5-1 record as a starter and he has rushed for 571 yards with 11 touchdown runs in that span. He is averaging a remarkable 51.9 yards per touchdown run. He has four scoring runs of at least 71 yards.
Tate now has 1,293 rushing yards, the seventh-highest single-season total in school history. Tate entered Saturday’s game 14th on the list, but surpassed seven different players with his performance Saturday. Tate needs
21 yards to pass Art Luppino (1955) for sixth all-time. The school record for rushing yards in a season is 1,929 set by Ka’Deem Carey in 2012.
Keep in mind: Tate missed most of Arizona’s first four games nursing a shoulder injury as a backup to Brandon Dawkins.
Baker Mayfield now massive 1/20 Heisman favorite via @LVSuperBook, meaning you have to wager $20 to win $1 on Mayfield. Next: Bryce Love 8/1, Saquon Barkley 20/1, Khalil Tate & Jonathan Taylor 25/1

ESPN's Gilmore just said Khalil Tate deserves an invite to NYC for the Heisman presentation. That's never happened for an Arizona player.

Kerryon Johnson Auburn RB and Khalil Tate Arizona Qb should both be in the Heisman race! You take both players away from their respective teams and both teams would look significantly different.
