Notes about Arizona’s No. 15 ranking in the AP Top 25 poll released this morning after the Wildcats had a bye week:

Biggest jump: Ferd Lewis of the Honolulu Star-Advertiser followed a week in which he dropped Arizona 10 spots to No. 21 to advancing the Wildcats up seven spots to No. 14.

Crazy: Logan Lowery of the Northeast (Miss.) Daily Journal went from having the Wildcats unranked to the second-biggest jump, six spots to No. 19.

Crazy Part II: Brett McMurphy of ESPN had Arizona ranked highest among voters at No. 2 in his poll two weeks ago after Arizona upset Oregon. McMurphy dropped Arizona five spots after the loss to USC last week. Arizona tumbled another five spots in his ballot, despite not playing, to No. 12. That’s the biggest drop in a ballot from last week.

Not buying Arizona: With Lowery ranking the Wildcats this week, Scott Wolf of the Los Angeles Daily News remains the only voter without Arizona in the Top 25.

Believers: Adam Jude of the Seattle Times and Larry Vaught of the Danville (Ky.) Advocate Messenger — the only voters who moved Arizona up in their voting despite a loss to USC last week — continue to advance the Wildcats in their polls. Jude had Arizona going from No. 13 to No. 12 and Vaught moved Arizona from No. 17 to No. 15. Vaught had the Wildcats lowest at No. 19 two weeks ago after the upset win over Oregon.
