This season two of my colleagues — Steve Rivera of GOAZCATS.com and Anthony Gimino of TucsonNewsNow.com — and I will pick the outcomes of Pac-12 games. Odds listed are of the Westgate Superbook in Las Vegas. …
ARIZONA (3-1, 0-1) AT
NO. 18 STANFORD (3-1, 2-0)
7:30 p.m., Pac-12 Networks
Pointspread: Stanford favored by 11
The spread opened at 17.5 points in favor of Stanford last Sunday but has been reduced by four points. The mystery remains whether Anu Solomon passed his concussion protocol tests and will play today.
— Stanford is averaging 30 points and 423.2 yards per game on offense while allowing just 19.5 points and 331 yards per game on defense. Kevin Hogan has thrown for 938 yards and seven touchdowns to lead the offense while Christian McCaffrey has rushed for 445 yards, but is seeking his first TD of the season.
— Former CDO standout Blake Martinez leads the Cardinal with 50 tackles. Ronnie Harris has five pass deflections and Solomon Thomas has three tackles for loss.
— The Arizona Wildcats ground game is averaging 329 yards per game, and Nick Wilson leads the team with 570 yards and five touchdowns. Defensively, Arizona is allowing 30.3 points and 423.8 yards per game. Will Parks leads the Wildcats with 26 tackles.
— The Wildcats are 8-20 against the spread (ATS) in their last 28 games on grass. The Cardinal are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 conference games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games on grass. The Wildcats are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 meetings.
My pick: Stanford will win but Arizona will cover.
Steve Rivera’s pick: Stanford will win and cover.
Anthony Gimino’s pick: Stanford will win but Arizona will cover.
