Amphitheater standout lineman David Watson was offered by the University of Arizona his parents confirmed on Sunday afternoon. “It is very rare that a local kid gets a full-ride offer and he is very excited,” his mother, Laura Espinoza-Watson said.
Espinoza-Watson was a three-time All-American softball player at Arizona and David Watson’s father, David Watson, was a lineman for the Wildcats.
As we first reported, Watson was named “Outstanding Lineman” at an Oregon camp in the summer of 2015 when he was only a sophomore.
Watson is approaching 6-7 and weighs 295 pounds. He will be playing baseball for the Panthers this spring according to his mother.
“Arizona is definitely one of his choices,” Espinoza-Watson added. “He is really stoked.”
