Podcast: Interview with former Arizona Wildcats standout Julius Holt

This is a rebroadcast (click on the play button above) of an interview conducted with Julius Holt, whose name is in the news because his son, Justin, was declared medically unable to continue his football career at Arizona because of concussion problems.

The interview includes Julius’ thoughts about his son’s development, advice he tells youngsters about staying on top of their “A” game and staying in their lane, and his memories of Arizona’s football program during the formative years of it becoming a national program under Larry Smith early in the Wildcats’ Pac-10 existence.

Although the interview was done two years ago, many of elements hold true today, especially Julius’ comments on his son, how young athletes should conduct themselves and his memories of Smith and the Wildcats’ outstanding achievements in 1981 and 1982 when he was part of the team.
