HOOPS: Salpointe & The Gregory School to play for state championships

The Gregory School (21-9) lost to Rock Point in the 1A semifinal round on Friday afternoon in Prescott Valley. Taylor Thompson scored 21 points in the loss. It was the best season in program history.

The Gregory School (29-1) boys beat Valley Lutheran 61-50 to advance to the fourth state final in program history. The Hawks won back-to-back state championships in 2008 and 2009.

The Salpointe Lancers (23-9) will also make their fourth championship appearance in program history.
