Catalina Foothills sophomore Carys Lynch to play for Great Britain

The British Softball Federation announced the addition of Catalina Foothills standout Carys Lynch to the program’s Under-16 Women’s Fastpitch Team. In addition, the sophomore utility player has been added to the “Long List” for the Under-18 Women’s Fastpitch Team along with Ironwood Ridge standout Diana Nisbett.

“I feel honored and excited to be playing for Great Britain and I cannot wait for this amazing opportunity,” Lynch said.

Lynch is batting .371 for the Falcons with two doubles and a triple.

The U-16 squad will take part in the Canada Cup Showcase Select International Softball Tournament from July 5-8 before competing against the Czech Republic, Croatia and Israel in Pool A at the European Under-16 Women’s Championship in Zagreb, Croatia, from July 29 to August 3.

The U-18 team will compete in the Futures Gold Division at the Canada Cup from July 8-14.
