Nogales standout Demetrio Crisantes joined a growing number of athletes from Southern Arizona when he announced his commitment to play for New Mexico State earlier today.

A junior middle infielder, Crisantes follows his teammate Saul Soto‘s commitment. Former Sahuarita standout Chris Barraza and Nogales standout Kevin Jimenez will be juniors for the Aggies this year. In addition, Sahuarita pitcher Ian Mejia transferred from Pima to New Mexico State. Sabino standouts Joey Parker and Jacob Wiltshire will be Aggies in 2021.

Former Nogales standout Keith Zuniga is an assistant coach for New Mexico State. New Mexico State is an NCAA D-I program located in Las Cruces and the Aggies compete in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC).

Crisantes batted .360 last spring for the Apaches with seven RBI, four doubles and two home runs. Nogales was 6-1 when the season was cut short.
