The 15th Annual Kino Softball Instructional League, including a unique Around-the-Horn competition and a Home Run Derby, was held Saturday at Lincoln Park.
Tucson High with the quartet of Jiselle Nuñez, Sofia Trejo, Jaliyah Grigsby and Jaelyn Cota won the Around-the-Horn competition at 5.71 seconds.
Douglas’ Estevannie Rojas won the Home Run Derby.
The event included 16 local high school softball teams playing exhibitions against each other ahead of practice starting Monday and an umpire clinic.
