Hattie Macumber won all five of her starts in the Arizona State Little League 8-10 Softball Tournament in dominating fashion, leading the Willcox All-Stars to the championship in July at Sierra Vista.
Her performance in which she struck out 71 and walked 16 in 26 innings merits her the Jet Sports Training Female Athlete of the Month honor for July. She also allowed only seven hits and two earned runs to finish with a 0.46 ERA.
She struck out 15, walked four and scattered three hits in six innings to lead her team to the state softball championship with a 4-2 win over Cave Creek Cactus Foothills.
Her batting with a triple and home run and three RBIs was also essential in the win over Cactus Foothills for the title.
