Nick Foles has not only established himself as Philadelphia’s starting quarterback, but he also has placed his name among NFL greats this year statistically and he is becoming a national media figure.
After Philadelphia’s 24-16 victory over visiting Washington yesterday, Foles leads the NFL with a passer rating of 128, ahead of Denver’s Peyton Manning, who has a rating of 118.3. Aaron Rodgers (108.0), Drew Brees (106.7) and Russell Wilson (106.1) are the others in the top five.

Foles’ passer rating is on pace to break Rodgers’ NFL single-season record. Rodgers had a 122.5 rating in 2011, when he led the Packers to the Super Bowl.
Four categories are used as a basis for compiling a passer rating: Percentage of completions per attempt, average yards gained per attempt, percetage of touchdown passes per attempt and percentage of interceptions per attempt.
Foles has thrown 16 touchdown passes without an interception. Manning established the record with 20 touchdown throws without a pick to start this season.
Foles has completed 63.6 percent of his attempts for 1,544 yards. Manning has completed 69.9 percent of his passes for 3,572 yards, 34 touchdowns and six interceptions.
On Thursday, it was Foles speaking confidently to the media in the slot reserved for the starting quarterback. When Erin Andrews of FOX came to Philadelphia for one-on-one, sit down interviews for this weekend’s game, it was Foles she sat down with. It was Foles who did all the promo shots, standing in front of bright lights while holding a football. In the locker room, Foles is as lively as ever, walking around and joking with his fellow teammates.
