Maybe Arizona and the Pac-12 presidents can go one notch higher and retire that No. 31 for Jason Terry?

Throughout the Lute Olson era and start of the Sean Miller reign, Arizona has only worn blue numbers/letters with red trim on their home uniforms. Welcome back red numbers/letters with blue trim.

(Miles) Simon says … blue uniforms with white trim, like in 1997?

We in the media can make too much of Rich Rodriguez’s anger after a practice. At least he did not berate personally any of the reporters who asked questions. He fired back with questions of his own, but everybody kept their cool. One other thing, unlike Lane Kiffin, Rodriguez did not pull a walkout from the interview session. It’s unfortunate he did not allow any of the players to be interviewed. In spite of that, it’s better for Rodriguez to show his emotion — it is football, after all — rather than be fake or nondescript. Not even the Green Bay Packers of the 1960s had great practices every day. Turn the page.

New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick commenting on Nick Foles’ success last year, “I am not sure anybody totally saw that coming.”

Who says Aaron Gordon does not have good “handles”?

Simon is a fan of at least one of the new uniform combinations.

Key word — “was” the No. 1 sophomore … Ivan Rabb of Oakland is about to start his senior year in high school. A prime target for Sean Miller.

ICYMI (in case you missed it) … One of Miller’s commitments for the Class of 2015, Allonzo Trier, was featured on the front page of the Washington Post sports section on Sunday. The premise of the article: “So Trier has become one of the country’s most enterprising players, too. Basketball has taken him from Seattle to Dallas to Oklahoma City to Tulsa to the District in a span of five years. He has played for three high schools in three years, including D.C.-area power Montrose Christian as a junior last winter. Now, in a move to advance his basketball career, he’s transferring to Findlay Prep in Las Vegas for his senior season before, according to his plan, enrolling at the University of Arizona to play for Coach Sean Miller.”
