DIVISION II SENIOR ALL-STARS PHOTOS
Miss Spring Training?
The All-Star Baseball Series at Kino Stadium presented by the Kino Baseball League in conjunction with the Southern Arizona Baseball Coaches Association (SAZBCA) is here to stay.
An incredible 11-inning Futures game on opening night was followed by a star-studded Division II Seniors game on Wednesday night. This is by far the best collection of high school baseball talent Tucson has ever seen and it all comes on the heels of an equally impressive playoff dominance by Southern Arizona.
The rosters for the Division II Seniors are listed below. Player after player will be wearing a college jersey next year and a handful will be playing in the minors. This will be the game everyone will want to play in for years to come.

Team Copper came back from a 6-2 deficit to pullout an 8-6 victory over Team Teal thanks to a six-run explosion in the bottom of the eighth.
Copper was led by Canyon del Oro head coach Keith Francis and Salpointe’s Danny Preble coached Teal.
Francis threw out a new pitcher every inning and the strategy shut down Teal’s first nine batters. Meanwhile, Max Smith (CDO) led off the bottom of the first with a triple to center and he was brought in by Dominic DeNiro (Foothills) to give Copper a 1-0 lead.
Copper would add another run in the second thanks to back-to-back doubles by Erick Migueles (CDO) and Andrew Brooks (Ridge) but Teal’s pitching staff began to take control and they held Copper in check till the eighth.
Teal broke through with a run in the fourth after Donny Sands (Salpointe) came up with his team’s first hit to score Matt Baker (Ridge). Baker led the inning off with a walk.
Down 2-1, Teal took the lead in the top of the sixth after Joe Marquez (Tucson) delivered on a single to score Marco Prieto (Pueblo) and AJ Martinez (Desert View). Teal added three more in the seventh to take what appeared to be a dominating 6-2 lead.
Trevelle Hill (Tucson) hit a triple to score Carlos Lopez (Mt. View) and Tony Pacheco (Desert View). Hill would score later in the inning on an RBI by Nick Steelman (Rincon).
But then the dam broke.
Travis Howard (Marana) scored Miguel Figueroa (Tucson) to start the inning off and then Francisco Dicochea (Cienega) doubled and Dalys Binder (Rincon) followed with a single. When it was all over, Copper had an 8-6 lead and they held on for the win.
The Division III/IV Senior All-Star game will take place Thursday night. It will be a chance for fans to see players not usually in the media spotlight.
Players such as Sahuarita standout Sati Santa Cruz will take part as well as Thatcher’s Heath Motes. Santa Cruz is slated to play for Arizona but is sure to get drafted and Motes holds the Arizona single-season stolen base record with 58.
