[tps_title]RIGHT TACKLE[/tps_title]
[tps_header][/tps_header]
Projected starter: Lene Maiava, 6-5, 301, RS-Sr. Career starts: 6.
Projected backup: T.D. Gross, 6-6, 285, RS-Jr. Career starts: 0.
Starter in 2014: Fabbians Ebbele all 14 games.
Synopsis: Maiava has played 29 games over the last three seasons, including only seven starts. Similar to Carter Wood, Maiva is a redshirt senior who is looking for consistecy and to remain injury-free to bolster the line. … Gross has played in 10 games over the last two years without a start. All six backups listed in each position of this slideshow have not started a game at Arizona and are void of experience on the line in games of consequence at the major college level. In the next couple of years the line will mature along with Anu Solomon. By the time Solomon is a senior in 2017, the Wildcats should be in a prime spot to make run for a national title. The experience of the line at that time will make a believer out of most, including Phil Steele.
Asked RR about the right tackle spot last night after practice. Sounds like Lene Maiava has a pretty good hold on it. Has had a good spring.
