Arizona Wildcats football: Top 5 must-win games to challenge for Pac-12 South title

[tps_title]No. 4 Oregon State[/tps_title]

[tps_header]Oct. 10[/tps_header]

Oregon State’s prolific passer Sean Mannion and its head coach Mike Riley are gone. Perhaps with Riley out of the way in Nebraska, Arizona can turn around its fortunes against the Beavers in Tucson.

Oregon State, which has not faced the Wildcats the last two years, has a phenomenal six-game winning streak in Tucson and is 12-2 overall against Arizona since 1999.

New coach Gary Andersen has a freshman starting quarterback, less than a dozen returning seniors on scholarship, and a game at Michigan in the second game of the season. The former Utah State and Wisconsin coach will have a difficult job this season replacing Mannion, who set the career conference record for career passing yards with 13,600 and a school record for touchdown passes with 83.

The front-runner to replace Mannion appears to be true freshman Seth Collins, who will have four games to his credit by the time the Beavers play Arizona. Unfortunate for Arizona: Oregon State has a bye week before traveling to Tucson.
