August 28-29: Grayhawk GC (Talon Course)

Catalina Foothills took fourth at the Brophy Boy’s Golf Invitational being in Scottsdale. Canyon del Oro finished in eighth place.

“We took our lumps and, hopefully, will be very focused at practice on Monday,” said CDO head coach John Farbarik.

“There were enough good things to keep us from getting too down on ourselves, but lots on which to work. There is still a lot of time to before state. We have to spend as much time as possible building skill regardless of effect on short term results while doing just enough scoring to qualify for state. We want to peak there.”

Catalina Foothills standout Gavin Cohen finished 3-over (77-70-147), six strokes behind Davis Evans of Phoenix Desert Vista.
