[tps_title]How is Mike MacIntyre’s development at Colorado going?[/tps_title]
In three seasons at San Jose State, Mike MacIntyre went from 1-11 in 2010, 5-7 in 2011 and 10-2 in 2012. He became a hot coaching commodity and was hired by Colorado after the Buffaloes cashiered former player Jon Embree, who lasted only two seasons as head coach.
MacIntyre’s three years with Colorado: 4-8 in 2013, 2-10 in 2014 and 3-3 this year. He is 0-11 in the Pac-12 over the last two years. Are fans becoming restless in Boulder because he has not experienced the same kind of turnaround as San Jose State?
Some Web sites have determined MacIntyre to be on the hotseat despite taking over a program that had talent comparable of an FCS team, not FBS.
Dennis Dodd of CBSSports.com gives hotseat ratings to each coach. He lists MacIntyre as a “4” on his barometer.
Dodd’s rating system:
0: Untouchable
1: Very safe, change unlikely
2: Safe… but you never know
3: Starting to feel the pressure
4: Warm, better start winning
5: Hot seat! Win or be fired
Rich Rodriguez rates a “1” according to Dodd.
