Ironwood Ridge two-time state champion Danny Vega committed to wrestle for Grand Canyon next year. The senior became the first junior wrestler from the state of Arizona to capture the USA Wrestling Triple Crown by winning the Freestyle and Greco Nationals after taking the Folkstyle Nationals.

“I really like the coaches and the environment GCU has,” Vega said. “The coaches are great and on top of things! Plus it means I’ll stay in Arizona,” he added.

“I’m excited to be a part of the team!”

Former Sunnyside standouts Juaquin and William Olivas wrestle for GCU.
