Austin Moore (WT A&M)
West Texas A&M senior pitcher Austin Moore (Mountain View) was named Lone Star Conference Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday.
Moore transferred to WT this season from the University of Houston and has fit right in with the Buffs helping to lead the team to an 11-3 record. Moore had another strong start this week for the Buffs as he went six innings, allowing one earned run, walked one and fanned four in a 6-1 win over Oklahoma Christian last Friday night.
He allowed six hits in the game and held the Eagles to a .240 average from the plate and now is 2-1 on the year with a 2.38 ERA in 22.2 innings. He has walked 27 and struck out 27 as teams are hitting just .179 against him for the year.
