Meet Marana’s three new coaches

Tiger-Logo copy“Marana High School is very excited about the future of our athletic programs,’ Marana Athletic Director Sarah Peterson Whaley wrote in a release introducing her three new coaches.

“We recently hired three new coaches who will oversee our Women’s Volleyball program, our Cross Country program and our Dance program. Marana High School is hosting multiple meet and greets to give the athletes and their families an opportunity to hear from and meet these new coaches. We invite those from Marana High School, our feeder schools and members of the community to come out and meet these coaches.”

Dance Team Coach: 4/19 5-5:30 pm in library
Women’s Volleyball Coach: 4/20 5-5:30 pm in library
Cross Country Coach: 4/20 5:30-6pm in library

Jenifer Ball is the new women’s volleyball coach. She played in high school, was a state champion track and field athlete, attended college on a track scholarship and coached volleyball for seven years at Sinagua High School, where they attained high levels of success at the region and state levels.

Chris Atkins is the new men’s and women’s cross country coach. He ran cross country and track in high school and earned a cross country scholarship to the University of Evansville. He has coached distance runners in various capacities, most recently as an assistant coach at MVHS. He also runs a Track and Field youth program.

Natalie Finley is our new dance coach. She currently holds one national title, has extensive choreography experience and has most of her experience in running a studio.

“Marana High School is incredibly excited about the level of skill, knowledge, and expertise these coaches will bring to our programs as well as their ability to build relationships with our athletes, parents, and members of the community,” Whaley added.
