BOYS TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS

DIVISION II SINGLES

No. 1 Yash Parikh, Salpointe over No. 2 Carlos Hassey, Shadow Ridge (7-5, 6-1)

NOTES: Yash Parikh was the 2013 champion while Carlos Hassey won last year. Hassey defeated Parikh in the semifinal round last year. George Jiang (Catalina Foothills) took third place.

DIVISION II DOUBLES

No. 1 Derek James/Scott Rowe, Thunderbird over No. 2 Michael Lee/Mason Lee, Catalina Foothills (7-6, 6-4)

NOTE: Salpointe’s Jack Mandala and Cyrus Grygutis took third place.

DIVISION III DOUBLES

No. 1 Dallin Cook/Logan McMaster, Thatcher over No. 3 Noah Baker/Samuel Baker, Desert Christian (6-4, 6-0)

GIRLS TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS

DIVISION II SINGLES

No. 2 Lindsey Pesquiera, Rincon/University over No. 1 Alexa Cooke, Notre Dame (6-2, 6-3)

NOTE: Morgan Chakraborty (Catalina Foothills) took fourth place.

DIVISION II DOUBLES

No. 2 Abby Watson/Halle Zadro, Catalina Foothills over No. 2 Alexandra Lehman/Alyssa Heid Notre Dame (6-2, 7-5).

NOTE: Abby Watson teamed up with Kirtana Bhat to win last year also.

NOTE: Brandi Swenson’s father Mark Swenson has coached The Gregory School to six team titles.
