Cienega senior Sionna Johnson took 12th place at the state Division II meet on Saturday with a time of 20:09. Although a bit off of her personal record, her sub-20 minute times got her noticed by Pima.
“I’m really excited I got the highest scholarship offer from Pima,” Johnson said. “The saw me at the Desert Twilight where I ran a 19:49 and they asked me to be a part of their program and to help them build it.”
Johnson signed with Pima last week.
