Former Arizona Wildcats and Sabino High School standout Brooks Reed, now of the Atlanta Falcons, is the 27th UA player to reach the Super Bowl.
The Falcons reached the Super Bowl with their 44-21 victory over Green Bay in the NFC title game.
Reed, a linebacker who played defensive end at Arizona from 2007-2010, registered a tackle in the game.
Reed posted this message on Facebook shortly after the game.
Pittsburgh cornerback Rob Golden, a former teammate of Reed’s at Arizona, is currently playing in the AFC title game against New England. Former UA tight end Rob Gronkowski is with the Patriots but he is out with a back injury.
Gronkowski has been involved in three previous Super Bowls with New England.
