All-Southern Arizona standout Zach Bohnenkamp committed to play for Northern State University on Saturday. Bohnenkamp was a 5-11 receiver/DB for Canyon del Oro
Bohnenkamp scored three touchdowns from the receiver position with almost 18 yards a reception. He had over 900 all-purpose yards and recorded 36 tackles and four interceptions last year.
“Zach has wanted to play college football since he was little so this is a dream come true for him. Glad to see all his hard work has paid off,” his father Jeff Bohnenkamp wrote.
“The next few years will bring big changes as we will have Zach in South Dakota and his twin brother Mitch at the University of Arizona. It will be difficult having him so far away but blessed to know that he will have grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins within 20 minutes of the university. It makes us feel much better knowing he will have family so close.
“I better sign up for a rewards program because I will be making a lot of trips back to South Dakota,” his father added.
