Former Sahuaro pitcher Brooklyn Beardshear earns PacWest honors

Brooklyn Beardshear (Sahuaro) earned PacWest Pitcher of the Week honors after she led No. 23 Dixie State to a 4-1 record at the Cactus Classic in Tucson.

Beardshear was on the wrong end of a 2-1 loss to Lubbock Christian, allowing two runs (one earned) on eight hits in six innings. She then threw a complete game in Dixie State’s first-ever win over No. 2 West Texas A&M, striking out a career-high 10.

This list was updated all year in an effort to recognize all former local prep stars who had gone on to achieve either academic and/or athletic awards at the next level. These are not high school awards but college and professional awards. NOT CHAMPIONSHIPS. If you are aware of anything I have missed along the way, please let me know.
