Empire standout infielder/pitcher Nathan Smith committed to play for Aurora University in Illinois this past week. Smith batted .293 last year with 14 RBI, six doubles and a triple for the Ravens. Smith also picked up 22 strikeouts from the mound.

“We are so very excited for him and so thankful to all the coaches that have helped him get to this point,” his mother Melissa Sciacca Smith said. “Of course, as you know, it’s not easy to let them go, but this is what he’s worked so hard for!”
